In 2012 The McComb Foundation was renamed the Fiona Wood Foundation in recognition of the high esteem Western Australians and people around the world hold for Professor Fiona Wood’s vision and work and the efforts of her team.
The Fiona Wood Foundation is a non-profit organisation. It was founded in 1999 by Fiona and scientist Marie Stoner to research innovative methods of tissue regeneration and to help improve the ways people heal from burn injuries.
The Foundation researches and develops new and ground breaking ways to speed up wound healing, reduce pain, stress, anxiety and scarring and generally understand the science behind burns. ‘Spray on skin’, the revolutionary treatment for burns patients, was pioneered by the Foundation and is testament to the important work they do to improve patient quality of life.
Lavan Legal is very proud to support the Fiona Wood Foundation by sponsoring a Post-graduate Burn Research Scholarship. Lavan Legal hosted a table at the Burns Challenge Ball in 2011 and in 2012. View Website >

For Christmas 2009, 2010 and 2011 Lavan Legal donated a van to The Salvation Army. In 2012, we offered to do something a little bit different to meet a very important need for The Salvos at Christmas.
From 10 December to 23 December, Lavan Legal’s very own VW Kombi van, manned by volunteers and Lavan Legal staff, drove out to metropolitan shopping centres where it collected food and coin donations for the Salvos. Over the course of these two weeks, the campaign collected over $8000 and more than 2000 food items. This money and food was then given by The Salvos to many Western Australian families in need to help bring some festive cheer to their Christmas tables.
The Salvation Army helps more than 1 million Australians every year. Their services are wide-ranging and diverse to meet all areas of need in the community. This includes providing meals, accommodation, counselling and financial support to victims of violence or abuse or to those whose lives have been affected by national disasters including operational and support staff and emergency services staff at the front line of devastating events like the Queensland floods and the WA bushfires.
The Salvation Army is one of the world's largest Christian social welfare organisations with more than 1,650,000 members working in over 123 countries. The Salvos have been operating in Australia for almost 130 years.
We are very proud to stand behind The Salvation Army, supporting their work to help the less fortunate in our community. View Website >
