Claire Petersen is a senior associate in the Commercial Advice and Litigation Group.

Claire practises in banking and finance recovery, as well as corporate insolvency, advising regularly on administrations, liquidations, receiverships, enforcement strategies and related litigation.  Claire’s experience includes advising National Australia Bank, Westpac Banking Corporation, St George Bank and insolvency practitioners across all aspects of external administration and controllership.

Claire was previously seconded as in-house counsel to the National Australia Bank where she was responsible for advising the Bank’s strategic business services team on enforcement and recovery issues including strategy, as well as advising on dispute resolution and commercial litigation for the Western Australian region.

Recent major projects include advising the receivers and managers of several agricultural ventures and major property groups.

Claire has acted in proceedings against the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and on behalf of professional associations in regulatory and disciplinary proceedings.  Her experience extends to conducting litigation in all of the State and Territory Courts as well as the Federal Court and Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
